CO2-Equivalent Greenhouse Gas Credits
Available To Acquire
Approximately
280,000 to 350,000 tons per year of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions
(sometimes referred to as offsets or credits) will become available for
acquisition from CommonWealth Resource Management Corporation beginning
in the first quarter of 2006, and continuing through 2015 and beyond,
the company has announced. Measured as CO2 -equivalent verified emissions
reductions, the offsets are being generated through the beneficial use
of landfill methane at New England-based projects owned and operated
by CommonWealth subsidiaries. The company also owns over 600,000 tons
of similar CO2 -equivalent emissions reductions generated by the projects
in prior years, and registered with the program for Voluntary Reporting
of Greenhouse Gases of the U.S. Department of Energy.
